Occupational Therapist OT $43.00 Needed

 

*This is a Direct Hire Opportunity Temp to perm, which means you will interview directly with the client. Must have an OT license in WA state and 1-year minimum Experience. 

 Job Duties and Responsibilities

*

1.    Provides comprehensive Occupational Therapy care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Performs intakes and evaluations, assesses and interprets evaluations and test results discuss goals with patients, implements care plans, educates patients about risks and benefits, and monitors progress. Works closely with other members of the patient care team in the formulation of the total care plan for patients.

2.    Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to the patient’s capacity and interest. Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing treatment programs, which include areas of daily living skills, sensorimotor skills, cognition, and therapeutic adaptations. This may include the use of physical agents, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise.

3.    Assures implementation and compliance of the therapy plan. Modify the treatment plan as indicated by patient condition progress. Instruct caregivers and family for maximal function and safety in the home environment, including proper use of equipment, body mechanics, and guarding techniques. Instructs supervises and counsels caregivers and family members in the continuity of care management. Makes referrals to other disciplines as appropriate.

4.    Evaluates the therapy plan. Reviews the written plan and its effect on patient care and makes appropriate modifications. Obtains feedback from the other team members regarding the plan’s effectiveness. Explores progress in care with the staff, patient, and /or family. Consults with the attending provider concerning the alteration of the therapy plan. Reviews patient’s record inappropriate utilization review setting. Meets as needed with the Rehabilitation Manager regarding patient care problems and how these may be resolved.

5.    Meets or exceeds quality care standards, achieves clinical excellence, contributes to quality improvement, and strives for high patient satisfaction. Independently plans work and develops procedures to accomplish goals. Participates actively in the quality improvement system, complies with all appropriate Washington State Department of Health standards, National Patient Safety Goals, and other quality improvement projects.

6.    Maintains professional skills through research and training/continuing education opportunities. Participates in interdisciplinary meetings; stays abreast of trends and best practices; develops and implements new and revised methods, practices, policies, techniques, and procedures. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and federal, state, and local laws.

 

7.    Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred
  • One year of occupational therapy practice, preferred

 

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  1. Current and unrestricted license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Washington (upon hire)
  2. Current BLS certification

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  1. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of therapy theories and concepts.
  2. Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience.
  3. Ability to cultivate effective partnerships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, managers, and patients.
  4. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation and records.
  5. Ability to work independently performing a wide variety of duties that require the use of independent judgment, advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, and prioritization skills.
